Visual Studio Team Data and Team Developer SKUs to Merge

One thing I took away from Dan Fernandez’ interview of Norman Guadagno, which can be found here, is that Microsoft is merging the Team Data (aka Data Dude) feature set into the Team Developer edition. This applies not only to Visual Studio 2010, but also Visual Studio 2008 Team Developer Edition. This updated 2008 SKU will be available to MSDN subscribers on October 1st. This seems like pretty big news to me, but I haven’t seen a lot of fanfare around it yet.

There is a lot of really great preliminary info about Visual Studio 2010 in Dan’s interview. I suggest you check it out.

Ok, maybe I should have said “very little fanfare”… certainly much less than I expected for cool news like this. Where are the big announcements from ScottGu and ScottHa? :)
